Herizon House – Hope Rising
Boyer Chevrolet Buick GMC was pleased to be a sponsor for Herizon House during their Second Annual Concert Fundraiser, Hope Rising.
Hope Rising Concert is an annual event to not only raise funds, but also awareness for Herizon House and their mission. This year’s event was held on June 10, at the St. Francis Centre for Community, Arts and Culture, right here in Ajax. It was a night filled with live music, dancing and entertaining fundraising activities. The night began with a greeting from Vanessa Falcon, Executive Director of Herizon House, and Antony Robart, Master of Ceremonies, and Anchor of Global News at 11. Then it was onto the live music. Singer-songwriter, Andria Simone performed her first of three sets during the night. Between her soul-flavored performances, a live auction and silent auction was held to raise funds for this great cause.
Herizon House is a not-for-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to provide services to women and children in Durham Region. They provide secure temporary shelter for abused women and their children. They, also, offer supportive counselling, advocate on behalf of women and children, as well as educating the public on the issue of violence against women and children. In the past year alone, Herizon House has provided a shelter and home to 237 women and children, responded to 1,243 crisis calls and delivered Outreach services to over 360 women in the Durham Region through their outreach and transitional housing support programs.
As a non-profit, charitable organization supporting primary needs to women and children, Herizon House is always in need of cash donations, gift certificates and gift cards, but also physical gifts such as linens, toiletries, clothing, kitchen items, and non-perishable food items.
