Turkey Drive – Salvation Army

Turkey Drive

Turkey Drive - One Meal at a Time

The Salvation Army held their Turkey Fest Turkey Drive on Sunday November 29th! They invited the communities of Ajax and Pickering to come together in a social distance manner. The Salvation Army is looking to fulfill their Christmas Food Assistance Hampers for local clients. This has been a challenging year, and with the holidays coming close they want to make sure families have a Holiday Dinner.

They are taking all the social distancing precautions you can drop your turkey(s) off drive-thru style at the back of the TSAHope Office at 122 Hunt St in Ajax between 10:30AM-12:30PM. A second option is bringing your turkey to MacMillan Orchards (Hwy 2 just west of Lakeridge Rd) who have kindly offered to accept their turkey donations. You can also purchase one of their farm-fresh turkeys to donate, all happening between November 15th – November 29th. They had music and a side walk collection, a great way to stay true to social distancing! What a wonderful way to have a turkey drive!

The Salvation Army is working hard to fight against hunger in the community. The need for food banks is rising in these troubling times. If you are able to donate anything even just something small, this will help those who are in need this holiday – it makes all the difference. Everyone should have something over the holiday season. We’d like to thank you in advance for your generous support in fighting local hunger and making Christmas a success for our community friends in need.

The fight continues at Boyer Chevrolet Buick GMC, we are collecting for the food drive until December 21st. We are looking to fill all four red buckets with non-perishable food items for this years food drive. We are also providing a contactless donation pick-up for the food drive: www.boyerajax.com/food-drive/
