6th Annual Charity Car Show

VanDusen’s Annual Charity Car Show

It was a fantastic turnout for our 6th Annual VanDusen’s Charity Car Show in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of South West Durham.  On top of that, it was a huge success on such a beautiful day.  Over  300 show cars from classics to hot rods were on-site along with a DJ playing some classic tunes.  The kids had a chance to enjoy face painting, a jumping castle and RC Toys.  I think everyone enjoyed the food from the SmokeHouse BBQ.

Big Success!

In total the event raised $7,000 for Big Brother Big Sisters of South West Durham from entry fees, 50/50 Ticket Sales, raffle tickets and generous donations from RBC, Walkaway Canada and Jim VanDusen himself.  We all know that Jim loves and supports the community.  This event has now raised $ 38,000 over the last 6 years.

The showroom features an incredible display of RC cars and trucks, including an 18 wheeler with a flat bed that gave kids rides around the showroom. One of the RC trucks delivered the trophies from the showroom to the presentation on the car lot.

Thank You!

Special thanks to all the VanDusen staff volunteers and their family for helping out.  From clearing all the new and used car inventory, setting up, selling tickets, cleaning up and then replacing all the inventory within 24 hours.  If you didn’t drive by until Sunday evening,  you wouldn’t have even noticed that we had a huge car show.

See You Next Year!

I would like to stress my appreciation to everyone else that makes this possible every year.  In the 1st year we had 80 cars in the show.  This year we were over 300 therefore we look forward to seeing you all next year for number seven.  If you haven’t had a chance to come out, we would love to see you in 2020!
