The Ice & Fire Rouge Gala 2015
Community Matters: The Ice & Fire Rouge Gala 2015
On Friday March 27, 2015 at the Liberty Grand the Rouge Valley Health System held one of their main yearly fundraisers. The Ice & Fire Rouge Gala 2015. There was a complete ‘Game of Thrones” theme.
The venue and the event were simply outstanding. We had a table of 10 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed everything about the evening.
Boyer Chevrolet Buick GMC was pleased and honoured to participate as the Vehicle Raffle Sponsor – providing a brand new 2015 Chevrolet Malibu LS as a raffle prize. Only 300 tickets were sold for the raffle at $100 a piece.
The couple who won the car were actually at the gala which made it more exciting and rewarding. Carolyn and Paul were the couple and they were very excited and appreciative. They were quite surprised because they had really just purchased the raffle tickets to support the hospital – never thinking they’d win of course. Very nice people and it was great to award the vehicle to them!
My involvement with all the folks related to the event and everyone from the doctors, nurses and admin staff as well as many from the Rouge Valley Health System Foundation – was amazing. We had a lots of fun promoting the giveaway in a photo shoot with the vehicle, costumed Game of Throne folks and a live horse! Yes, a live horse.
They had this fabulous idea as well to create fun video showing some Game of Thrones “acting” – by hospital staff and I was graciously included as the sponsor. It tied in the use of the actual piece of equipment that is being purchased with the funds raised. It’s called a “C-Arm”.
Then at the gala we staged a small skit where I, the sponsor, while being thanked stabbed my hand with a real sword (all pretend!). That then led to me being rushed to by doctors and nurses and knights (yes knights from Medieval Times) and rushed out of the room on a gurney with a bandage hand.
The entire point and I hope you can feel it – these folks at the Rouge Valley Health System Foundation really know how to make things fun and passionately enjoy what they do.
I thank them all for including us in this opportunity! THANK YOU!!
